Regulatory potential of short peptides (sPEPs)

Eukaryotic proteomes are still greatly underestimates, lacking the whole range of small peptides (sPEPs) that are problematic to identify, but may act as regulatory or signaling molecules. Many sORFs can reside within lncRNAs, either non-functional or with dual functions as ncRNAs and encoding peptides. Our goal is to analyse the expression of sORFs in various stresses, identify corresponding sPEPs and study their functional potential.
